Ingredients:


Fata is a kind of yogurt thick soup that could be served as an appetizer or a side dish.


½ pound of a good quality yogurt
½ cup of garbanzo beans
½ cup roasted cashew nuts
1 minced garlic clove
Juice from ½ lemon
1 pita
2 tbsp olive oil
1/3 tsp ground cumin
Salt


Directions:


Soak the garbanzo bean in water over night in a refrigerator and change water a couple of times
Cook the beans in a pressure pot to save time, water should be about an inch over beans. (close valve when steam pressure builds up and cook for 15 minutes, in a regular pot over an hour until soft)
Drain the beans and set aside
Slice the pita to 1x2 inch slices and roast in oven until crispy
Warm up (not hot) the yogurt in low heat while stirring
Add the garbanzo beans, the pita strips and the garlic to the yogurt and mix
Pour the mix into bowls, sprinkle cumin, salt, lemon juice, olive oil and cashew nuts and serve.
