Ingredients:


1 pound rice
1 pound carrots cut into thin strips
1 pound beef cut to cubes
½ Cup olive oil
1 tsp ground cumin
Salt
Black pepper
1 cup water


Directions:


Rinse the rice and drain
In a large pot fry the onion with the olive oil until brown
Add the beef, about ¼ amount of the carrot and the water and cook for 7 minutes
Spread the rest of the carrot to create a layer that covers the beef (do not mix)
Mix the cumin, black pepper and salt and spread over the carrot
Spread the rice over the spices to create another layer
Add water until it’s about 1 inch above ingredients in the pot
Bring to boil, let it boil for 5 minutes and then lower the heat cover the pot and cook an hour in low heat
