1 Orange, peeled and cut into round slices
1 Avocado, sliced
1 endive, separated
1 bunch watercress
½ head romaine lettuce
2 pitted dates, diced small
Seeds of ¼ pomegranate or ¼ cup cranberries
2 tablespoons balsamic or red wine vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed
Dash of salt
Dash of sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Freshly ground pepper to taste
5 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
1. Combine all ingredients in a salad bowl.
2. Just before serving, mix in salad dressing. Toss 15 times (in honor of the 15 different kinds of fruits and nuts eaten on the fifteenth of Shevat).
1. Combine all ingredients except oil.
2. Slowly whisk in oil and pour over salad.
