Dough:
2 lb flour
½ cup sugar
½ lb butter
2 eggs
2 tbsp baking powder
4 tbsp canola oil
Filling:
1 lb chopped pitted dates
2 oz crushed nuts
½ cup sesame seeds
1 egg
2 tbsp canola oil
1 tsp ground cardamom
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F
Mix all dough ingredients, cover and set aside
Mix all filling ingredients
Make dough balls about a tennis ball size
Poke the ball to make a hole as large as possible being careful not to break the dough
Fill the hole with the filling and close the top
Press carefully on top of each ball to flatten them
Brush with beaten egg and bake to preferred color
