2 cups basmati rice
1 cup beans (white or red or black eye)
1/2 lb lean ground beef
2 chopped onions
1/2 cup tomato paste
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
Salt
Black pepper
7 cups water
Directions:
fry the rice in half of the olive oil for 5 minutes
Add 4 cups water, bring to boil, lower heat, cover and cook until liquids are absorbed
Fry the onion in the rest of the oil until golden
Add the beef the cumin, the paprika, salt and pepper to taste and fry for 10 minutes
Add the beans, the tomato paste and the rest of the water, mix and cook until tender
Serve the beans over rice or side by side
